The Atma Jaya Catholic University of Indonesia AIDS Research Centre (ARC) was officially founded in 2010 under the Atma Jaya Catholic University of Indonesia Research and Community Service Centre. PPH Unika Atma Jaya (ARC) was initiated as a contribution of Atma Jaya Catholic University of Indonesia to respond towards the HIV-AIDS and drug problem in Indonesia through research, capacity building and community service.
Most research focus on policy research, operational research and social behavior studies related to HIV-AIDS and TB, drugs, violence towards women and marginal groups, health care management, and the role of civil society in the health care system and health sector.
Capacity building activities are targeted towards HIV-AIDS researchers and other concerned parties in increasing their capacity related to topics relevant to their field of work. These activities are conducted through various methods, i.e. discussions, training, workshops, online courses, technical assistance and monitoring, as needed.
Providers Services to Disadvantaged Communities
As a form of support to disadvantaged communities PPH Unika Atma Jaya initiated several services to communities affected by HIV-AIDS. These services include HIV-related interventions for injecting drug users and children living with HIV, through two programs namely Lentera Anak Pelangi and Kios Informasi Kesehatan Atma Jaya.
